This 3D medical animation of heart surgery shows a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedure used to combat coronary artery disease. Beginning with a midline sternal incision, the heart is connected to a perfusion machine which will take over the duties of the heart while the surgery takes place. Two different grafts are used to bypass the blocked coronary arteries: the internal thoracic artery from inside the chest wall, and the saphenous vein from the leg. After the procedure, the heart is shocked to restart its beating. A drainage tube is left at the incision site to drain away excess fluid.

I’m trying this diet. I’m on day 3. I found out after I started it that it’s supposedly awesful for you and it’s extremely low calorie and not nutritionally sound. Oh well.. I started it so I’m finishing it. it tastes good and there’s nothing wrong with eating vegetables.

My 6th angiography in July 2007 where it was found that the stent they inserted 3 1/2 years earlier was 95% blocked again. The blockage can best seen at seconds 20 and onwards.

Natural Medicine Leads to Real Cures
In contrast, the philosophy of natural medicine holds that a weakened immune system (and/or along with other weakened bodily systems) is the reason foreign invaders can thrive, producing symptoms and diseases.
Most of us are taught that we need to go to medical doctors when we get sick. What we aren’t taught is that the real doctor is already within us as the innate wisdom of the body. Allopathic Medicine—Symptom/Disease Management
The allopathic medical philosophy taught at most medical schools, and practiced by the majority of medical doctors, relies on the concept of identifying diseases or symptoms, and then prescribing drugs to manage or combat those conditions. It is a system that considers the disease or symptom to be the actual problem, as opposed to addressing the underlying causes that produced the disease or symptom in the first place. A wide variety of tests, procedures and equipment specially designed to identify diseases and symptoms have been developed, which on one level is great, because these tests could be used to help figure out underlying causes. Yet, on another level they are very limiting, since they are rarely used for such purposes. Typically, once a diagnosis is determined, the tests are plunked into the patient’s file as conclusive evidence of his or her condition.

One important area of personal health management is testing your cholesterol levels.
Anyone over 20 should have their levels checked and there is now a range of over the counter home tests that can monitor these accurately. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist which test is most suitable before you buy. The kits will come with easy to follow instructions, and give accurate results in about three minutes. Make sure you read the manufacturers guidelines carefully before proceeding with any tests.
The kit should contain the sealed test, a lancet, plaster and the set of instructions.
High cholesterol significantly increases the risk of having a heart attack. Cholesterol is an oily substance which is a building block for manufacturing many of the body’s vital chemicals.
The main reason for high cholesterol levels in this country is a poor or unhealthy diet. It’s important to know what your cholesterol level is, as high levels can go undetected for a long time and become noticeable when it blocks blood vessels.
There are two types of cholesterol in the body – LDL, which deposits cholesterol in arteries of the heart. HDL type actually removes cholesterol from the blood, reducing the risk of a heart attack.
Some test kits show total cholesterol, others total and HDL cholesterol levels. Results on most kits are easy to interpret, reporting low, Ok or high levels.
Ideally measure your cholesterol on an empty stomach. Some kits require you to fast for 12 hours before carrying out the test.
The kit gives you all the equipment needed to collect a finger sample of whole blood – if your cholesterol levels are high, you must consult your GP for further tests, and if you have any concerns about the test itself, you should seek advice from a medical professional.
